R. Duckett, R.N., M.S. Barbara R. Duckett,
R.N., M.S. is a nurse manager with twenty years experience
in the addiction treatment field. She was President and CEO
of a 140 bed alcohol and drug rehabilitation hospital system
and guided the system through the transition to a managed
care environment, and understands the need for strategic
planing as care organizations adapt to the rapidly changing
health care environment. With an early
education in nursing at Boston Children's Hospital and a
Masters Degree in management, Barbara has the education,
training and experience which allows her to interact with
hospital-based systems as well as freestanding
units. Barbara has been a
member of the JCAHO Mental Health Professional Advisory
Commission and was a survey consultant for CARF before being
asked to serve on the Board of Trustees, where she is
currently serving as treasurer. As a member of the
Institutional Review Board of a Boston teaching hospital,
she is involved in the field of medical research and keeps
abreast of outcomes and trends in the health care field. Her
special interest is genetic testing, informed consent for
genetic testing and their implications for
patients.
